![]() ![]() Link needs at least 13 Hearts in order to successfuly draw the Master Sword. ![]() True to his word, the next time Link tries to pull the Master Sword without enough Hearts, he will receive a Game Over. He encourages Link to prepare before his next attempt, since he will not have him stop next time. If Link does not have enough Hearts to pull the Master Sword, The Great Deku Tree will stop him once he only has a quarter of a Heart left, as continuing any further would have killed him. To pull the Master Sword, The Great Deku Tree says Link will need to use his true strength, and so he challenges Link to test his worth. In Link's current state, The Great Deku Tree is unsure whether or not he is worthy of the blade, and if he were to try to draw it in a weakened state, he would lose his life. 100 years ago, Link himself carried that Sword, though in order to wield it again, the Master Sword will test him. He explains that he has watched over Hyrule for a very long time, and that the Weapon in front of him is the Master Sword, crafted by the Goddess Hylia that only the chosen knight can wield against Calamity Ganon. The Great Deku Tree realizes that Link does not remember him. After a century, his patience has been tested by waiting for Link. He recognizes Link and admonishes him for taking so long to return. ![]() Link draws back from the Master Sword, which awakens The Great Deku Tree. If he attempts to pull the sword, he will hear the voice of Princess Zelda saying he is the final hope of Hyrule, overlaid with flashbacks from several Recovered Memories. There he will find a pedestal, upon which rests the Master Sword. After traversing the Lost Woods, Link will arrive in the Korok Forest. ![]()
